[Question] How's everyone finding good watch sales/deals?

Just curious about everyone's experience or method. I usually try to stick to forums since they offer the best deals(no fees). Been mostly using watch patrol/recon and a little bit of chattertrade.
My assessment so far:
WatchPatrol - I end up using this the most since it seems to pull from the most sources? Has recommendations and price estimators which is kinda cool that it’s doing something with all its data but not that useful for me personally. There’s also some different categories in their discovery mode like popular japanese/swiss/under 500/under 1000/etc watches. Helpful when I don’t really want to think that hard and just wanna see what’s available.
WatchRecon - think this is the og? i remember it from forever ago. There’s some slightly better search features than watchpatrol like via location or seller name. There’s also choices for searching different availability statuses(on hold, withdrawn, sold, etc), country/continent features and there’s an alert feature for new stuff popping up. I tend not to use it as much except for the alert. Maybe it would be more useful if I had to a rarer location?
Chattertrade - literally ONLY scrapes r/Watchexchange but after checking it out it has some strong filters instead of just keyword search. Like sometimes i’ll look up blue dials but get hit with blue hour hands or blue straps instead. example. Also looks like it’s trying to be it’s own forum too so kinda wonky experience...there’s a bunch of extra forum stuff instead of just easy search interface(you need to go to i/watches and set to market mode to search shit)
I have looked for rarer stuff like limited editions on chrono24 or a gift where I need new on jomashop.

Watch out for those fake Black Friday deals this year

It's a lot of items I've been watching for months. And a lot of them I've seen with the sale price they've done had maybe weeks ago. But you'll see places like Amazon and others trying to label it as a "Black Friday" sale.
It took me a while to really catch on to when people will tell me Black Friday is a scam. But each year I really start to see it more and more.
Like one thing I've noticed about Amazon specifically with having items saved in my Wish List. Is they like to play around with prices all the time. You can have something like a set of towels. That when you initially found it was maybe $24. But then a few days later it's $15 then next week it's $30.
So be careful out there this year if you are Black Friday shopping. Don't get fooled by these big corporations and their fake sales labeled as a Black Friday sale. Just to draw you in and get your money. It's a dirty game they like to play.

[Guide] How and where to get online discounts on watches

I wanted to share my experience on getting discounts online for watches. Some brands hand out out discounts like candy, some only do so at certain times of the year (e.g. Christopher Ward) and some brands never do it at all (e.g. Tissot).
First, I'll share my tips and experiences and if you have any yourself, I'll update this post with yours. I want to aggregate everyone's tips into this post. My experience is limited, so it'd be great if you guys could help me for the benefit of others and people who will eventually pop in here from google searches.
Sites that never do discounts:

Sites that give discounts if you sign up for email, text messages:
- Henry Archer (Danish microbrand) - 10% off. I haven't seen anything higher offered yet
- Venezianico (Italian microbrand) - 10% off. They will send bigger discounts in other emails, see below
- Jared.com - I know a ton of people shit on this company, but they offer great discounts. The first email you get is for $25 off. Unfortunately the $25 doesn't work on certain brands like Tissot (though more expensive rewards do work). Additionally, I got a Citizen Tsuyosa for $130 cheaper than the Citizen website even without the coupon. There are bigger discounts though, see below.

Sites that offer more than 10% discounts:
- Venezianico (Italian microbrand) - I've received a 20% off coupon via email. At the time of this post, NEXT-VZ works and gives 20% off. I have however had it glitch and only take off 10%, make sure you double check before checking out.
- Frank Forta (Canadian microbrand) - a popup came up and I had to spin a wheel and got up to 20% off. I have also experienced a glitch here with a code and customer service fixed it right away.
- Jared.com - To be honest, I really had low expectations from Jared, but they've far exceeded them. I've gotten two $100 off coupons in the last month. First coupon was for reaching being a vault member ($100 for anything over $300), the second one was for a Loyalty birthday ($100 off $300) and I got free expedited shipping.
- As mentioned above, I said the $25 doesn't work on brands like Tissot, but the $100 off coupons do work on Tissot, which I used on a PRX Powermatic 80.
- Additionally, you can get cash back offers using Honey (a chrome extension that also does price tracking). Make sure your offer is activated. I've gotten up to $50 cash back.

Sites that offer discounts certain times of the year:
- Christopher Ward (January and July -- usually early in the month). Good watches are sold very quickly. You need to get the emails from them to have a chance at the most desired sale models [Info from u/jacob4568's comment below]

Lastly, if any site has a field for discount codes, try googling the site name + discount code or site name + discount code + reddit. It's a longshot sometimes, but never hurts to try. I've had some luck with getting better codes than what they send you in the mail.

How do people get such good discounts?

I've seen that many are able to get samsung watches for sub $100 and I'm really confused how? With a 20% discount code and a trade in its still £135 which is okay but still imo decently expensive. Also how do people get discounts from talking to the support staff? I've tried three times to no avail.

[Question] Best spots to find deals on watches?

Hey squad, looking for some guidance here. I’m relatively new to the hobby (2-3 years) and am looking to find 1-2 higher end pieces to add. I’m thinking $5k each tops. I see below market prices on eBay, Hodinkee, and other places now and then, but nothing of my personal taste. I visit pawn shops and independent jewelers now and then just to see what they have, and I always strike out. I’m looking to save a little coin but recognize in the grand scheme of things that this is a large purchase. Even a few hundred bucks or a small percentage discount could be worthwhile.
Any ideas on where to look? Help a fella out?

Top Comment: Chrono24 is another place to check out. I probably would stay away from eBay personally due to the ease of finding a non original piece there perhaps imo anyway.

I'm curious how people are finding the best deals. Refreshing on craigslist? Chrono24? Estate sales? I'd love a candid walkthrough of the space, it's hard to tell how flippers and dealers are finding their watches online.
Any tips welcome!
Top Comment: I was able to snag my seamaster from an estate auction a few years back. $300! The benefit of estate sales is that the items in question need to be gone quick, meaning sometimes you are able to snag some pretty good deals through an auction basis. Also, a lot of the time, they don’t usually realize what they’ve got on their hands, so it makes it a perfect place to find some pretty neat pieces
